A family mehana since 2015
In our kitchen everything is made from scratch. We roast the lyutenitsa and peppers over a wood fire each autumn, bake the bread every morning, and marinate the grill meats ourselves – nothing frozen, no ready-made sauces.
We shop at Plovdiv's central market and from small Rhodope producers: white cheese and kashkaval from mountain dairies, vegetables in season. That's why the menu shifts through the year rather than staying the same.
The grill runs on charcoal – kebapche, kyufte and pork-neck steaks. The clay-pot dishes – gyuvech, kavarma and sarmi – simmer slowly under an earthenware lid, the way they've been cooked for generations.
The wine is local and poured by the glass, the rakia house-made from grapes and plums. Sit down for an unhurried dinner; we'll take care of the rest.
